Alex Thiele, festival director

Alex has spent the last 15 years living in London. She has worked in the British film and television industry for 10 years. Her early career started out at BFI Southbank, working in the Special Events department and on the London Film Festival. Wanting to spread her wings, she moved into television production, managing factual documentaries for the main British broadcasters.
Recently she has started producing short films, many of which have played successfully on the international festival circuit. (One of her projects No Ordinary Joe was bought by Salzgeber for a DVD release entitled Verliebte Jungs - Gay Classics 2006). Currently she is in development to produce her first feature film with a young British director, who has previously shown work at britspotting.
She is absolutely delighted to have joined the team at britspotting, where she is able to combine the diverse experience of working and living in London with her German roots. A formidable combination!
